North Carolina November 21, 1757 (Session) $5 Very Fine. This entire issue is unpriced in both Newman and Friedberg, and very few examples are known. This note is the $5 variety with the word "payment" all on one line and not hyphenated. The note has been well restored along its quarter folds, and it is very well centered, well signed and with every word of the text clear. It's certainly the equal of the example illustrated in Newman, and interestingly, it bears the same pen notation below the state, and the date has been entered in the same hand. The number printed is not given in Newman, but is can be presumed to have been very small, as few survivors are known, and both this note and the Newman plate note bear very low serial numbers. The Newman note is number 84, and this note is number 177. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
