North African Flintlock “Chieftains’ Grade” Miquelet (Taoizilt) lock musket with ornate silver overlaid lock showing Niello silver decoration and “paste” jewel inlays. The arm measures 49-1/4” with approx 55 cal bore(smooth). The work on the silver is unusually good and an article has been written that identifies this work to a band of displaced Spanish Jews who decorated silver in the Rasel Chad region of Morocco.One silver band is missing and the top jaw and screw are also lost otherwise good condition with ornate and very interesting Jewish art work.
