<B>Nolan Miller Designed Black Velvet Gown Worn by Elizabeth Taylor in <I>North & South</B></I></B></I> 1985; Gown: silk velvet; Label: Nolan Miller Couture; Dress Size: 4/6.<BR><BR>Floor-length period costume in black silk velvet. The "V" necked, fitted and boned bodice is finished with a "Basque" waist, extending in a "V" 4" below the waist. The short, puff sleeves are shaped with heavy netting between the sleeve and lining. The full floor-length skirt is gathered at the waist and finished with a ribbon at the waist. The skirt is tacked to the bodice. Tied to the lining is a ribbon waist belt, secured by a snap and hook & eye. At the shoulder is an elastic caught in place with a "catch stitch." The back of the skirt is closed with five snaps and a hook & eye, and the bodice is closed by a series of 13 hooks with double "eyes."<BR><BR>This period gown, designed by Nolan Miller, was worn by Elizabeth Taylor in her role as "Madam Conti" in the 1985 TV mini series <I>North and South.</B></I> Included in this lot are two photographs of Elizabeth Taylor with "her girls" on the set.
