<B>Nolan Miller Emerald Green Beaded Gown and Ostrich Feather Boa with Dyed-to-Match Satin Tap Shoes for Ann Miller, Worn at the 1986 Academy Awards.</B></I> Dress: chiffon, bugle beads, sequins; Boa: ostrich feathers, metallic thread; Label: Nolan Miller; Dress Size: 8; Shoe Size: 8.<BR><BR>A hand-beaded, bright green, chiffon off-the-shoulder, form-fitted, full-length gown with a side slit in a gradual curve to mid thigh. A 13' boa in green ostrich feathers and green metallic thread accents is attached at the shoulder. The dress opens by means of a side zipper to bright green chiffon lining, with ribbon waistband tied to lining and secured by hook & eye. Emerging from a beaded corsage at the shoulder, the beading of the dress cascades to the floor in waves of emerald green, light green, and silver bugle beads and sequins. Accompanying the gown is a pair of 3" satin heels dyed to match with tap plates, labeled "YSL made in Italy" (Yves St. Laurent).<BR><BR>This dress was designed for the vibrant, charming Ann Miller (1923-2004) remembered for her enduring personality, great legs and tap dancing which landed her in over 40 motion pictures and Broadway shows during the 1930s, '40s and '50s. This gown with matching tap shoes was designed by Nolan Miller for her appearence at the 1986 Academy Awards. Included is a photographic image of the sketch for this gown signed "Nolan Miller" and labeled "Ann Miller--Academy Awards." The gown was also worn by Lisa Kudrow in the HBO TV show <I>The Comeback</B></I> (2005). In Very Fine condition with some fraying of the lining fabric at rear hem, and loose beads along the zipper, hem, and slit. <I>From the Nolan Miller Collection.</B></I><B>Condition Report:</B> Normal signs of wear as appropriate with age.
