Northern German Percussion Jaeger Hunting Rifle, #1434 on butt, approx. .54 cal., double set trigger and hammer, 25-1/2'' octagon barrel marked in gold ''Damas Turc''; area around hammer marked in gold ''A. Siefken'a Jever''; checkered cheekpiece full-length walnut stock, lockplate engraved with doe in repose, shield-shaped patchbox with rutting elk motif, engraved German silver triggerguard shows young buck on precipice, additional ends of triggerguard engraved in a Turkish style, as is the ramrod receptacle. Long upper tang shows silver inlaid deer above the initials ''GR''. Unique early adjustable rear sight is present. Condition is very good with some knackering and witness marks to the barrel. Wood shows lightly tarnished over platina type bands at breech. Stock with light knackering and some areas of repair need forend. Ramrod is a replacement. Action and set triggers function as designed. Rifle has both Turkish and Northern German influences. Est.: $1,80!
