Nixon Signed Letter to Ebsen & Inauguration Tkts
Richard Nixon Signed Letter to Buddy Ebsen, and Three Unused Tickets to Nixon's 1969 Inauguration. This lot is a truly fascinating Washington, D.C.-meets-Hollywood curio. It contains a letter typed on "Office of the President-Elect Richard M. Nixon" stationery, dated December 10, 1968, a month after Nixon had defeated Hubert Humphrey to become the 37th President of the United States, and signed in black ink, "Richard Nixon." Nixon thanks Buddy for serving on his "Celebrities Committee," hopes that his presidential leadership will (as he quotes Churchill) make "this muddled world a better place in which to live," and sends his best wishes for "Christmas and the New Year." Also included are three unused tickets to the Presidential Inauguration, January 20, 1969, bearing an image of Nixon and his Vice-President Spiro T. Agnew. One of the three tickets has minor staining on the front. (By the way, the original price of the inauguration tickets was $18 apiece.) Also included is the original "United Citizens Nixon-Agnew Headquarters" envelope (with pictures of a smiling Nixon and Agnew) that contained the tickets. Wonderful mementoes from a turbulent time in U.S. history. Excellent condition. Accompanied by a COA from PSA/DNA. From the Buddy Ebsen Estate.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
