This delicate salt and pepper set looks like Nippon, but the pieces are unmarked (as well as uncorked). They are painted with a circlet of pink roses; a swag of gold "beads" drapes down the shoulder, and a similar gold-painted bead "belt" encicles the midline. These beads are actually small raised dots on the porcelain itself. Most of the holes on the top are surrounded by these dots and painted in gold as well. There are gold curlyques at the base of the neck; the paint here is faint. You can see light through the porcelain when you hold them to the light and look inside. They are lovely. No chips or cracks are noted.
