Amazing Nippon pedestal ferner with 3 different scenes - one adult elk, one young elk and the other just the scene. The artwork in this piece is, to say the least, outstanding!

Around the mouth there is slipwork and beading, all intact. Dividing the three scenes is a raised ridge with slip trail and beading with 2 jewels in each one. On the pedestal section, continuing down the raised ridge above is the pedestal which extends out from the raised area with an open section. There is more slip trail and jewels on each of these. Along the base of the pedestal is very detailed slip trail and much more jewels.

In order to show you the details of this piece, for my 4 photos, I chose to show this instead of including a photo of the backstamp. But it is the #47 stamp from Joan Van Patten's Encyclopedia of Nippon books.

This piece is as good as mint. There are no breaks in the slip trail and all beads and jewels are intact. There is no rubbing of paint anywhere. There are 4 very minor areas of paint in the main scene that has fine paint flecks. One area that appears to be a scratch is, in fact, part of the painted scene. There are no nicks, cracks, chips, hairlines or repairs.

I charge exact cost for shipping plus insurance. For domestic U.S. addresses, I ship USPS priority mail so your item will arrive promptly. ...
