Founded in 1917 as Nippon Kogaku Kogyo Kabushikigaisha (Japan Optical Industries Corporation), Kogaku produced scopes, binoculars and bombsights for Imperial Japan, and after the war becoming heavily involved in camera lens and camera development, later renaming itself after it's flagship product, the Nikon Camera. Finished in black enamel overall, with Japanese nomenclature on the left side of the mount, "4419" and "19" on the locking block and right side of the mount, respectively, the top of the tube marked "4x7(degree)/NTC/KOGAKU/No. 13429", and a rubber eye shield on the rear. With a green rubberized canvas carrying case, with leather fittings and a canvas shoulder strap.

Very fine. The body shows mild scratches and handling marks overall, with some crushing of the eye shield. The optics are very good, with a few light spots. Mild edge wear is present on the otherwise excellent case.
