<B>NIKI DE SAINT-PHALLE (French, 1930-2002)</B></I><BR><I>Eleven Maquettes</B></I>, 1970s<BR>Sculpted resin, wire mesh frame<BR>Various dimensions, largest: 12 x 10 x 3 inches (30.5 x 25.4 x 7.6 cm)<BR> <BR>These eleven maquettes are studies for a larger unrealized project. Each piece is a unique character, brightly painted. They are wonderful examples of Niki de Saint Phalle's imaginative and joyful spirit. The group is composed of a female conductor, a horse, an urchin, a small couple arm-in-arm, Leda and the Swan, a female with clinging figures, a dragon, fanciful braided U-form, a sunflower, and a bird loveseat. Variations of these images reoccur in Niki's larger sculptures.<BR><BR>A certificate of authenticity by the Niki Charitable Art Foundation will accompany this lot.

<B>Condition Report:</B> Overall  in good condition.  The horse has cracks on its flank. The female with clinging figures has a cracked apendage and one figure with a broken leg.
