This original platinum and pure gold ring by the company Niessing is gemmed with a Top Wesselton emerald cut diamond weighing approximately 0.25 carat. The ring is a so-called tension ring. Here the jewel is clamped without a setting between the two ends of the ring band seemingly floating. Thus the diamond is perfectly staged and the fine cut can be admired from every angle. This innovative design was developed by the German artist Walter Wittek for Niessing in 1979.

The ring is in good condition with some traces of wear such as small surface scratches. On the inside the ring band is embossed with “Niessing”, the purity mark “950” and “PT” for platinum. Moreover it is engraved with a heart and the letter “B”. On the outside the band is marked with the purity mark “1000”. The ring has a total weight of about 14 grams and a ring size of 52.

Niessing
The jewellery workshop was founded in 1973 by Hermann Niessing in the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Vreden. From the outset innovation and extraordinary modern designs shaped the philosophy of the company. In the 1950s Niessing became one of the leading producers of wedding rings in Germany. From 1970 the company started to collaborate on a regular basis with external designers. In 1979 the sculptor Walter Wittek developed the famous Niessing tension ring. To this day the company produces jewellery of all kind, whose charm derives from its creative design.
