Nick Kusmit Master Engraved Blackpowder Colt Single Action Army Revolver
Manufactured in 1894. This revolver features a blade front and notch rear sights. The barrel has the two line Hartford address on top and "45 COLT" on the left side. The underside of the barrel is marked with a visible "V4" followed by a barely distinguishable "5". Has the crescent style ejector rod head. The frame is of the black powder type with the two line three patent date marking on the left side followed by the Rampant Colt. The hammer well has an "O" marked above the firing pin hole. The cylinder is marked with a "V" on the rear face. The revolver has been beautifully engraved by Winchester master engraver Nick Kusmit with floral scroll patterns on all major parts, covering approximately 70% of the gun. Matching serial number on frame, trigger guard and back strap. Fitted with later production Rampant Colt/Federal Eagle embossed grips.

Excellent as master engraved. The barrel retains nearly all of the custom blue finish with a few barely noticeable areas of scattered surface rust. The front sight has been ground down slightly and the original markings are shallow but visible. The ejector rod housing no longer fits flush against the barrel and shows some scattered surface rust. The frame retains 98% of the new case color finish with shallow patent date and Rampant Colt markings. The cylinder shows 95% new blue finish with both the front and rear faces having covered over pitting. The grip strap and trigger guard 95% new blue with both serial numbers being shallow and a small area of light surface rust near the hammer which also shows a few small areas of surface rust. The engraving is crisp overall. The replacement grips show a few light handling marks. Mechanically fine.
