Talented American actor (1931–1968) who appeared in such films as Rebel Without a Cause and Twilight of Honor, for which he received an Academy Award nomination. He died of a prescription drug overdose at the age of 36. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Cappy. Thanks for joining the club and helping me get to the top. Your friend always, Nick Adams.” Adams has added a postscript on the back of the image: “I remember your name from my fan mail. Thanks for writing. I’m sorry if I never answered my [mail]. I’m behind on my mail and its [sic] hard to answer everyone. Thanks. Nick.” Light creasing, scratches to the emulsions, a couple areas of staining, some irregular adhesion, and slight curling, otherwise fine condition.
