The piece features a very finely beaded bag or pouch most likely used for a strike-a-lite and was from the Nez Perce Native American Indians. The museum quality piece is very well preserved and from circa 1880-1890. The bag has a fully beaded front flap showing excellent glass trade seed beads in sky blue, Cheyenne pink, medium, dark green, and dark blue. The flap opens to shows an early calico trade clothe backing and Buffalo tanned hide contruction with a fantastic double beaded edge. This is a very well made piece shows only slight bead loss on the top edging as shown. The rare piece measures 5"Lx4 5/8"W and 12.5"L with bottom fringe (also is 9 5/8"L when flap is open).
