Newfoundland 5 Cents 1872H ICCS MS-67
5 Cents 1872H ICCS MS-67 PQ. This is a fully struck and superbly lustrous piece with flawless surfaces, which are beautifully toned in light-medium golden olives and ambers with overtones and accents in iridescent blues, greens and violets. It is accompanied by an ICCS Executive Certificate, which accords it with Great Eye Appeal, and says in part, “The coin is richly toned in the multi-colours of the rainbow, particularly on the reverse. The lustre beneath is truly superb. Combined with its flawless surfaces, this coin offers great eye appeal”. It is the solo highest of only five mintstate examples graded by ICCS. There is one PCGS MS-67 graded, with none higher. PLEASE NOTE: - Because of the virtual impossibility of assembling a set of this quality, the consignor has requested that an attempt be made to keep the set together. Accordingly, the five pieces will first be offered as individual lots, then their five hammer prices will be totalled and the bidding for the complete set will begin at the next increment. If any bid is then accepted for the complete set of five pieces, that bid supersedes and cancels all of the bids on the individual lots. From the Point Grey Collection.
