New Zealand. Set of seven Die Trials: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 Cents and One Dollar, ND (1967-1971). Planchets for denominations of the proposed new decimal coinage of New Zealand. There are two bronze die trials and five copper-nickel die trials. The One Dollar planchet has only the effigy of the Queen on the obverse and a completely blank reverse; it has no legends and the edge is milled. Of the other four copper-nickel pieces, only the 20 Cents has a milled edge; the others have plain edges. The four non-dollar copper-nickel planchets have large numerals 5, 10, 20 and 50 respectively on one side and a small stylized church in a rectangle on the other. The two bronze coins have the church design on both sides and the incuse numerals 1 and 2 on one side only. Interesting set and rare. Lot of 7 coins. NGC graded AU-58 to MS-63.
Estimated Value $400 - 500.
