New York World's Fair Comics 1940 (DC, 1940) CGC FN- 5.5 Off-white pages. After the ill-fated attempt to charge a whopping 25 cents for the 1939 World's Fair comic, DC came back the next year with this more affordable 15-center. The dime and the nickel were well spent, as this book is now ranked among the 100 most valuable Golden Age comic books! This issue's cover marks the first time Superman, Batman, and Robin all appeared together in one scene. In fact, according to Jack Burnley who drew the trio, this is the first time those characters were ever drawn by somebody other than their creators! It's also the first published comic book work by Burnley. Superman and Batman appeared in separate stories inside the issue. Also appearing were the Sandman, Johnny Thunder, the Hourman, Slam Bradley, and others. Overstreet 2006 FN 6.0 value = $3,384. CGC census 3/07: 3 in 5.5, 11 higher.

Shipping: Comics - Slabbed (certified) (<a target=""_blank"" href=""http://www.heritageauctions.com/common/shipping.php"">view shipping information)
