Lot of six checks from New York banks. All checks date from the late 1800’s and are in good condition. Checks are as follows: 1 and 2) 2 Checks from the Rockland County National bank of Nyack, NY: check #8403 dated April 5, 1871 for $144.64 and check # 681 for $7,061. 97 on November 1, 1866. Each has brown lettering and a vignette of an angelic woman hoisting a lightning bolt in an outstretched right hand. 3) Check from the National Park Bank of New York dated September 18, 1871. This check is not numbered, has green text and artwork, a vignette of a buck on the left with the words “Zenas Van Dusen” directly above. This check was for $81.16. 4) Bank of New York check from July 17, 1869 for $200. It has a vignette of a fastidious looking woman above the bank name, and an advertisement for Laman and Kemp Wholesale Druggists on the left. Bank of New York was established in 1864, Merged to the State First Bank of New York in 1984, Assets sold to Key Bank of New York in 1993 and Liquidated in 1994. 5) $50 check from the First National Bank of Cooperstown check # 8984 includes vignette of studious woman on the right. 6) Check from the National Park Bank of New York number 2263 dated March 19, 1870. Check has a light red background and red lettering with a vignette of a Victorian style 5 story building on the left. All items are in good condition and endorsed on the back.
