<B>New York, NY</B></I> - $100 1902 Plain Back Fr. 707a <B>The Bank of America National Assoc</B></I> Ch. # 13193<BR> This high denomination example is one of the highlights of the Flynn collection, as it is one of only two Fr. 707a specimens known. This number was unknown until 1975, when this example was discovered by a Virginia coin dealer when it walked into his shop. It was joined by one other example which surfaced five years later, and the census has remained at two for the past twenty-seven years. We have now had the opportunity to handle both pieces, and can report they are virtually identical in grade and appearance, with each grading a nice <B>Fine-Very Fine. </B></I>This piece has been off the market for two decades, and the one other specimen has now been ensconced in a major New York collection since its last offering a dozen years ago. Once the hammer falls on this lot tonight, it may be several decades before another opportunity to obtain any note bearing this Friedberg number offers itself.
