<Our item number 105317>New York. Mar. 5, 1776 $3. PCGS graded Apparent Very Fine 35, Edge Split at Top Center, Mounting Remnants on Back. Fr-NY-193. Despite being housed in a PCGS "red label" holder, the problems on this note are actually quite innocuous--the edge split at the top is hardly visible, and the mounting remnants on the back are likely removable with expert care. Only 2,350 examples of this denomination were printed, each bearing the popular Ten Commandments vignette on the back. The Latin motto "LEX REGIT ARMA TUENTUR" is singularly fitting for the contemporary revolutionary atmosphere--as translated by Newman, it means "Law rules, weapons protect."
Estimated Value $200-300.

Our item number 105317
<IMAGES>

</IMAGES>
