First New York Saturday Evening Post. No. 1, Monday, November 16, 1801. This newspaper was found with the estate items of William Patten. First printed New York Saturday Evening Post dated 1801. There were only 600 hand printed copies of this paper. Was put under glass many, many, years ago and kept out of direct sunlight. Extremely cherished and well take care of historical document. William Patten married Grace Bigelow. John Bigelow was a silent partner of the Saturday Evening post. The newspaper comes with 3 books by John Bigelow; Retrospections of an Active Life, Volumes 1, 2, 3, looking to be first editions, all coming from the same estate. Also included is a photograph of William Patten's wife, Grace Bigelow Patten, who was a direct descendent of John Bigelow (granddaughter).
