New York City in 1772. Minutes of New Y
New York City in 1772. Minutes of New York Council Meeting of Apr. 8, 1772, beautifully penned on both sides of 7 -1/4 x 1 2 ivory sheet, signed by Committee Chairman Jonathan Watts. Detailing finances. Persons shown as present include "Mr. DeLancey," of a family prominent before and during the Revolution as Loyalists, a street long bearing their name on New York's Lower East Side. Signed by a witness as a "true copy." Separating at fold, light toning at folds, else an attractive document from a critical period in American history, soon after the Boston Massacre.
