1801 signed Edward Livingston payment document for glazing NYC street lamps. 16 November 1801 document reads in part, “…Pay to Michael Brooks one hundred and twenty seven dollars and fifteen cents for repainting and glazing public lamps…By Order of Common Council…Edward Livingston.” Livingston served as Republican U.S. District Attorney for the State of New York during this time. Very legible, clear black ink written on toned slip of paper. Document measures 7” x 3” and has some wear and chipping along one border, otherwise excellent.
