New Comics #11 (DC, 1936) CGC Apparent VF- 7.5 Slight (A) Cream to off-white pages. This significant title began the same year as DC's first comic title, New Fun Comics, but lasted only through this issue. Another indication of its early date is the full-page ad for Detective Comics #1 contained herein. The creators of Superman, Siegel and Shuster, contributed to the stories here, some 18 months before Supes made his initial appearance in Action Comics. The humorous cover is by Whitney Ellsworth, who would later edit virtually every DC title and shepherd the company from the Golden Age through the early years of the Silver Age. CGC notes that "Restoration includes: small amount of glue on top and bottom of spine." Overstreet 2002 VF 8.0 value = $3,100. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium.
