<B><I>Neptuno</B></I></B></I><B> Cigar Label by Schumacher & Ettlinger, New York.</B></I> Full color lithographed 9.5" x 5.75" inner label. The art here carries an 1884 copyright and is unusually liberated for the Late Victorian era. A bare-chested and decidedly sexy personification of Cuba presents a tobacco leaf to a soggy King Neptune rising from the deep. In the distance is a harbor, possibly New York, sporting an early suspension bridge. Crease on upper right corner, else very fine condition.
