Neolithic period, Hong Shan culture large hardstone carving in shape of human skull. Human skull as subject of veneration is still present in the Buddhist tantric Tibetan rituals. The carving of this skull was done in bowenite, the carving material of choice during Hong Shan culture period. Estimated value: $14.000. Size: 6" X 5" (15 cm. x 12.5 cm.).
