Neolithic jade amulet pendant with Tao Tieh masks decorations on both sides. Heavy calcination process is present, especially in the crevices of carving. The top displays a cloud pattern and a perforation for suspension. Measures 1.8 inches in length and has no damage. Very rare!
This jade piece represents a transition period between neolithic period and earliest Shang period jade carvings. Estimated value: $600.
Provenance: Dr. Veleanu's jade collection, the author of collectors textbook: "Jade: 5000 BC to 1912 AD, Guide to collectors" and the owner of Objets d'Art Uniques Internet store.
