Neolithic period, Liang Zhu culture, (circa 2000 BCE) greenish-white jade plaque with superficial calcination. The plaque is decorated in bas relief with a central bovine type of a tiao tieh mask with peculiar right angle horns. Two perforations allow the suspension of this plaque. This type of plaque is well described in the collectors' textbook: "Jade, 5000 BC to 1912 AD, Guide to collectors", by Mircea Veleanu). Dimensions: 6.8" (17 cm.) length, 3.8" (9.5 cm.) width. Estimated value: $5500-$7000.
