Burrell Scott was born in Sacramento, CA on Aug. 27, 1856, the daughter of Dr. Charles Burrell. Nellie studied in San Francisco at the School of Design and Partington Art School. She wed Wisner Scott in 1901 and lived in San Francisco until her death on Nov. 17, 1913. One of early California's finest still-life specialists, her subjects include fruit, flowers, and fish in action, especially trout of the Sierra. Mechanics' Inst.
