Neil Armstrong signed Boy Scout program. Before becoming the first man to walk on the moon Armstrong signs and inscribes the cover: ''Good luck, John / Neil Armstrong'' in blue ink. He's listed in this 1962 Long Beach Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner program as a guest speaker. His speech is titled ''X-15'', the name of the aircraft he flew as a test pilot at Edwards Airforce Base. A lifelong supporter of the scouting program, Armstrong was recognized in his adult life by the Boy Scouts of America with its Distinguished Eagle Scout Award and Silver Buffalo Award. While flying to the moon on Apollo 11, Armstrong announced: ''I'd like to say hello to all my fellow Scouts and Scouters at Farragut State Park in Idaho having a National Jamboree there this week. And Apollo 11 would like to send them best wishes''. Program runs 4pp. and measures 8.75'' x 11''. A few pinholes and surface impressions along left side of cover. Tape residue upon back cover, overall very good.
