Neil Armstrong Signed FDC & Mission Debriefings
Neil Armstrong Signed First Day Cover and Gemini 8 Mission Debriefings. Before Neil Armstrong made his legendary step onto the moon's surface during the Apollo 11 mission, he had commanded a Gemini mission that wasn't quite so smooth and successful. On March 16, 1966, Gemini 8 had to make an emergency landing due to some technical issues that had caused the capsule to tumble and roll forcing use of the reentry control thrusters. This lot includes a folder from Dr. Coons's personal files that includes copies of the GT-8 medical debriefing as well as the self debriefing by both astronauts giving interesting details of their emergency. Also in this lot is a First Day Cover postmarked September 29, 1967, at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida celebrating the release of Scott #1331-1332. There are two pair of the se tenant stamps on the cover and Armstrong's blue ink signature is clear and bold on the left side. Included with this lot is an official NASA printed biography and an 8" x 10" B&W glossy photo of Dr. Coons. From the estate of Dr. D. Owen Coons, Chief of NASA's Manned Spacecraft Center Medical Office.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
