Neil Armstrong signed cover. The first man to walk on the moon signs ''Neil Armstrong'' to a commemorative cover from the splashdown recovery. The U.S.S. Hornet welcomed the astronauts back from space when Columbia dropped into the Pacific following the successful mission. Cover is rubber stamped ''Apollo 11 / AS 506 U.S. Navy Recovery Force'' and was cancelled aboard the U.S.S. Hornet on 24 July 1969. Addressed in ink by an unknown hand. Measures 6.5'' x 3.75''.
