Neil Armstrong Autograph on an April 1979 typed letter on University of Cincinnati letterhead stationery in which he lambastes the writer for what he felt was an undeservedly critical letter (s) to him. He says, in part: "Your dissatisfaction is understandable. You would not be aware that the mail volume to this office is such that it is difficult for me to read it all, and impossible to respond to all...The university is most generous and does allow me to respond to such inquiries as I am able, but rightly expects my own classwork, research and administrative obligations to take priority...In your letters, you give few details. You do not identify Portage School as a college, high school or elementary. You fail to state the student age or class level. Other than "Ohio History", you do not specify the subject to be discussed, or the level of detail required...Use letterhead stationery rather than sheets ripped from a spiral notebook. Identify your needs clearly and concisely as you can. Make the assumption that your reader has some appreciation of the world's needs. And if you've done your best but fail, don't complain. You've just been beaten by someone who made a better case. Perhaps I'll hear from you again". He has signed the letter as "Professor of Aerospace Engineering & Applied Mechanics". A great letter from a man who has no time for anyone who doesn't do his homework. Ex: the Jim Ruddy collection. Estimate: $ 1,500 - 2,500
