The attached may help clarify the situation. (Since this was a private letter from the Administrator, I have clipped out a bit to preserve his privacy.) All the Best. Neil.</B></I>" A photocopy of an October 3, 1972 typed letter from NASA Administrator James Fletcher is present. A portion has been cut away by Armstrong. In part, "<I>Recently many questions have been raised concerning materials carried on Apollo flights which were retained by the astronauts following the flights or given by them to others…</B></I>" Fletcher has advised the astronauts, for the time being, to keep what they may have and "refrain from authenticating any items as having been on a space flight." Armstrong's letter and signature were penned by him in his block handwriting. Armstrong ALsS are rare. <I>From the collection of renowned former physical trainer of the astronauts Joe Garino.
