Needham Conversion of a Model 1861 Musket, NVSN, .58 cal., 37'' browned barrel, full-length walnut stock with three iron bands. As originally converted from a U.S. 1861 musket by Bridesburg, and in the post-Civil War were distributed to Fenian groups who crossed the Canadian border at Niagara, NY, June 1866, and defeated a column Canadian volunteers at Ridgeway. Arrested by U.S. authorities, their weapons were confiscated. Condition is near fine with light general overall toning. Scuffs and scratches to stock with very minor oil darkening. Ramrod is present.
