Nazi Uniform Tunic for an District Manager in the Reich Ministry for the Occupied Eastern Territories

Established in July of 1941, the Reichsministerium fuer die besetzen Ostgebite, also known as the RMBO or Ostministerium, was the bureaucratic organ established to manage the Russian land seized by Operation Barbarossa. An early stage of Hitler's dreams of "lebensraum", the RMBO men served as superiors to local elders and village chiefs who had to answer to the Nazis while running the day to day operations of their areas. While the eventual goal was to drive all the Russians to death or serfdom and replace them with Germans, the collapse of the Eastern Front and the unstoppable Soviet counter-strike briskly and firmly slammed the door on those dreams. Brown wool construction overall, with a pair of collar tabs bearing laurel leaf borders and three rank diamonds each, a silver thread on brown felt Nazi eagle on the left arm, tan braided cord around the cuffs and the "state official" buttons on the front and pockets. No makers marks are visible on the light purple inner lining.
