This is an example of a restored Nazi "Kriegsmarine, K" date luger pistol complete with a 1936 dated brown leather holster and take down tool. All "K" date Lugers were produced in 1934. In this lot the documented serial numbers run from approximately 1700 to 5250 with this pistol being fairly early in the production cycle. These Lugers used the distinctive "K" chamber marking indicating that it was produced in 1934, with the top of the rear toggle having both the Gothic "S" and Script "S/42" markings, indicating manufacture at the Mauser factory. This example has the third pattern, larger Nazi "Kriegsmarine" Naval property mark on the frame flat on the left side and front grip strap. These Navy markings consists of the larger winged "Eagle/M" with the single letter "O." property mark on the grip strap. It is estimated that approximately 300 of these early "K" luger were actually procured for the German Navy with only 13 reported to date. The serial number range for these Navy marked lugers is reported between serial number 1934-2410 with a full property mark and number on the grip strap. The right side of the barrel extension has the single Gothic "S" proof mark over the boxed "B90" and S91" proofs next to the early drooped wing Mauser Eagle proof, with the same type of proofs on each side of the barrel. The underside of the barrel has the serial number and bore diameter. The majority of the small part such as the side plate, extractor, takedown lever, safety, ejector, trigger and magazine release button have the Script "S" proof while the rear toggle, and front of the trigger guard have the Gothic "S" proof. It has checkered walnut grips, blued Haenel Schmeisser marked magazine with an aluminum base that is stamped "1/8587" and a 1936 brown leather holster and take down tool. The holster is marked on the back "FR & K. VOEGELS/KOLN-DEUTZ/1936" and the tool is unmarked.
