Nazi DDAC Ambulance Badge. Der Deutsch Automobile Club (The German Automobile Club or DDAC) was an organization that was made for assisting motorists in Nazi Germany. During the construction of the Autobahn, the DDAC also set up first aid centers every few hundred kilometers. Ambulance personnel would wear these badges to identify themselves. This DDAC ambulance badge has a red cross with the caducus over the swastika. The initials DDAC are split in half with the DD on the left and the AC on the right. The back has the manufacturer’s mark “Carl Poellath, Schrobenhausen“ as well as the number 26. The badge has some minor finish wear on the edges. Excellent condition.
