Navajo Yellowhorse Turquoise Thunderbird Knife
This is the newest offering from our partnership with David Yellowhorse, a Damascus knife set with turquoise, onyx, black matrix jasper along with a total of six silver hand cut silhouette inlays including the Thunderbird and arrowheads. David Yellowhorse has transformed this knife into visions of his Navajo heritage and the spirit of Western themes. The piece shows a fine Damascus forged blade having a ladder pattern with blacksmith hammered finish spine in a drop point camp blade which shows black spider matrix Turquoise, black matric red jasper and black Onyx inlaid on both sides of the handle along with six silver hand cutout silhouettes which overall show two Native American Indian Thunderbird symbols being framed by two each (four total) of mirrored Native American Indian arrowheads. The silver inlays are shown on both sides of the grips. The bolsters have each been hand stippled / hammered by David Yellowhorse with his iconic stepped design. The spine of the handle has been vine file worked by hand. The blade is marked on the right with “David Yellowhorse Custom” along with his logo. The knife has been paired with a Great American Bison Buffalo leather hand crafted sheath which is also marked with David Yellowhorse name and logo. The knife is in brand new condition and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity which is marked as being "Thunderbird" and is signed by David Yellowhorse. We are one of the only companies if not the only company offering directly sourced Damascus blades from David Yellowhorse custom knives with a with large blades of such a high quality. This is truly a very fine example showing black blacksmith forged style scales. The knife measures 8 5/8” with a 4.25” blade. In the sheath the knife is 9.25”L.
