Navajo Two Grey Hills Trading Post Rug
The lot features a tightly woven all wool trading post rug from the Navajo Native American Indians with a Two Grey Hills pattern from the mid-to-late-1900’s. The rug shows a fine soft tightly woven 100% wool construction with natural dyes having a grey / brownish background with a Two Grey hills central pattern storm stepped pattern of cream / white, black, grey and brown. The rug also shows a banded border in black and grey. The Two Grey Hills pattern was started in circa 1900-1914 by George Bloomfield and Ed Davis at the Toadlena and Two Grey Hills Trading Post. This large Navajo woven rug has a wonderful look and would very beautifully compliment the modern Western aesthetic. The rug shows a very good well-preserved condition. The rug measures 27 1/2" x 15".
