This is a large Navajo Tommy & Rose Singer horse bolo tie with barrel bead tips. Tommy Singer was a renowned Navajo Silversmith. He grew up on the Navajo Reservation and was taught silversmithing by his father, beginning at the age of seven. Singer is thought to be one of the most important and greatest contemporary silversmith Indian artist and his work is highly sought after. Singer passed away on May 31, 2014. After his death, his wife, Rose, continued to create jewelry using designs Singer created prior to his passing. The piece shows a thick braided black leather strand with large classic bolo tie having a cutout of an Indian War Horse and classic Navajo stampings set with Blue Gem Turquoise, signed T&R Singer Sterling. The bottom shows two barrel sterling sections an two large bolo tips with barrel bead ends in classic Tommy Singer pattern which are both stamped T&R Singer. The bolo itself measures 24.5”L from the back of the neck to the bottom of the tips. Bolo slide is 3” by 2.5” and the tips are about 2 5/8”L each. Total weigh to 107 grams.
