Featured in this lot Navajo Teec Nos Pos Trading Post rug circa 1950-1960's. The rug features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wool construction that shows a traditional Teec Nos Pos design with a light grey field and black coloration to the Teec Nos Pos patterns with stepped red medallions throughout. Teec Nos Pos is located in the northeast corner of Arizona and rose to prominence in 1905, spinning off of J.B. Moore’s Crystal weaving style. The Teec Nos Pos pattern is widely considered to be the most intricate and detailed of all Navajo rug designs offering a truly exceptional distinct look. The rug was hand woven by skilled weavers and shows bright natural style dyes in a traditional geometric Teec Nos Pos Crystal Pattern. The condition of this Navajo rug is preserved with some slight wear to the weave but otherwise shows a preserved overall condition. The measurements of this rug is 72 1/2" x 35 1/2". The thread count of this rug is 89 threads per square inch.
