Navajo Teec Nos Pos Trading Post Rug Mid-20th
This is an outstanding tightly woven Navajo Native American Indian wool rug with an excellent Teec Nos Pos pattern with an early mid-20th Century age. Teec Nos Pos is in the northeast corner of Arizona and rose to prominence in 1905, from the J.B. Moore’s Crystal weaving style with more detail. The Teec Nos Pos pattern is widely considered to be the most intricate and detailed of all Navajo rug design offering a truly exceptional distinct look with extraordinary skill. The rug shows a high quality 100% wool tightly hand-woven construction with nice large size showing all-natural vegetable dyed colors of black, white/cream, grey, brown and yellow. The rug has incredibly detail with a wonderful symmetrical whimsical design, a truly artist piece. The piece is in very well-preserved condition with little to no wear. Provenance: From a 90-year collection out of Central Arizona in the Coconino National Forest. Measures overall 76 inches long by 39 inches wide (the measurements include the four tassels which are each 5 to 6 inches in length).
