For your consideration is a remarkable Navajo Native American Royston turquoise squash blossom necklace. This double stranded necklace has a silver link chain indicative of the early 1900’s-1930’s. The necklace features a highly polished gem quality Royston Turquoise, renowned for its beautiful colors ranging from deep forest green to rich, light blues set off by a heavy, brown matrix. The turquoise is set in sterling silver and shows wonderful workmanship. The squash blossom is in good condition and is signed on the back of the naja “EM”. The piece shows a double round silver beaded strand on an early silver linked chain strand. The average size of the hand made silver beads is 10.3 mm. The piece shows a large squash blossom naja pendant with two large floral leaves. The back of the squash shows the correct patina and wear indicative of its early age. It should also be noted that the addition of the double strand of round beads is very unusual as most all squash blossoms do not have a complete double strand, but rather the double strand begins at the blossoms with the top portion being a single strand (yet another rare addition to design and quality). The necklace shows six blossom pendants with each shows a polished gem quality turquoise stone surrounded by a worked rope silver edge and then a tooled raised silver frame. It measures 19 ½" long when unclasped. This is truly a wonderful and quality example of an early original piece.
