For your consideration is a Vintage Navajo Diné John Delvin Sterling Silver and Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Scalloped Concho Leather Belt. John Delvin, is a Navajo Silversmith renown for his pieces with Spiny Oyster cabochons. In the 1980's he joined together with other members of the Navajo Arts and Crafts enterprise in Gallup, New Mexico to form Teme'. Teme', a.k.a. Sunburst Handcraft Inc., is a manufacturer of hand made Native American jewelry. This stunning sterling silver leather belt and buckle features scalloped sterling silver and copper fastened conchos with serrated bezel mounted petit point Sleeping Beauty turquoise stones. Scalloped sterling silver buckle has a centrally mounted serrated bezel Sleeping Beauty cabochon. Buckle reverse features the artists hallmark, "Sterling" over a "D". Conchos measure .5"W x 1.125"L each. The condition of this beautiful sterling silver and turquoise leather belt and buckle is very good overall, leather is supple, nice rich patina noted throughout. Measures 43.5"L, collective weight is 110.7gms.
