This is an outstanding 14K yellow gold necklace by Jerry T. Nelson (1959 - ; Navajo) exhibiting a reversible double sided micro-inlaid bear pendant and Navajo pearl necklace. The piece dates to circa 1990's. The bear is inlaid on both sides, the first side showing a micro-inlaid Yei / Yeibichai pattern on a bear shape with a lapis lazuli background and pattern in turquoise, black onyx, mother of pearl, opal, coral, sugilite, gaspeite, spiny oyster, and jade. The other side shows a Kokopelli with background in Lightning Ridge Opal background with pattern in turquoise, black onyx, coral, No. 8 Spiderweb Turquoise, gaspeite, mother of pearl, lapis lazuli, and spiny oyster. The claps is stamped / hallmarked "J. Nelson" over "14K". The pendant is set in 14 karat yellow gold with a stepped nugget like thick rough design. The necklace exhibits a braided chain strand with gold claps, large gold hollow cone long beads, discoidal concho / concha Navajo pearls in multiple sizes and a hair pipe long bead all in 14 karat yellow gold. The necklace is a true work of art and possibly Jerry T. Nelson's master piece. Provenance: Purchased from David Saity New York, New York in the 1990's. Total weight of 64.0 grams (the 14K gold strand is 38.0 grams and the 14K gold and stone pendant is 26.0 grams). The piece is well kept and in good condition with no major flaws. The necklace strand measures 22"L end to end and the pendant measures 2.25" by 2.25".
