Featured in this lot we have a Navajo Native American framed Yeibichai sand ledger drawing originating from 1922. The art displays two Yei figures showing geometric designs and patterns across the figures. Sand art is a traditional art style used by the Navajo, Hopi, Zuni, and other plains tribes. The first of the figures shows the tall thin traditional yei design with the second figure showing geometric hourglass design. Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman which was both part museum and gallery. The art shows good condition overall with some light wear across the frame. The frame measures 24 1/2" wide by 30 1/4" tall with the art measuring 15 1/2" wide by 20 3/4" tall.
