Navajo Chinle Wide Ruins Trading Post Wool Rug
The lot features a Navajo Native American Chinle Wide Ruins Rug. With extravagant history in America, Chinle rugs had a huge impact for the native Navajo weaving culture by trader Cozy McSparron and Bostonian Mary Cabot Wheelwright. Visually stunning with beautiful, contrasting vegetal colors, these designs are generally steeped in vibrant greens, muted golds and tans, and soft ivory and pink. The use of these unique colors as well as the intricate detail allow for striking color palettes, remarkable designs, and truly exceptional art work. This rug shows its gold with interwoven white and a dry gray along with a light salmon, yellow, and greys. It is tightly woven as well as being a think weave it has all four of its tassels intact. This is truly a wonderful authentic original hand woven Navajo Trading Post rug in all soft nice wool construction and a nice early vintage age. The measurements of this rug are 33" by 20".
