This is an excellent Navajo Native American Indian handwoven wool trading post rug in a scarce Burntwater pattern. The Burntwater (Burnt Water) was developed by Don Jacobs in the 1960’s with similar characteristics as the Two Grey Hills with more pastel colors. This example shows a stepped diamond center medallion with a light orange cross, brown, tan, ilac, and rose/brown with a light orange background with lilac symbols in each corner and red/brown border. The rug has a very tight fine handwoven weave of all 100% wool with natural dyes and very good condition. The rug measures overall 23" x 33".
