Naughty Nineties Lou Costello Tux Jacket Movie Costumes
Naughty Nineties Lou Costello Long-Tail Period Tux Jacket Costume - At the time "The Naughty Nineties" (1945) came out, Abbott and Costello were at the height of their success. At the time they held the position of one of the five top box office draws in the country, and the biggest box office in Universal Studio's history. "Naught Nineties" is also famous for having the longest, and best rendition of their classic "Who's On First?" routine, voted the greatest comedy routine in history. Shot in one take with great embellishment, the sequence was so brilliantly performed that you can actually hear laughter from the director, Jean Yarbrough, and crew off-stage. However it was so perfect that Yarbrough realized he would never get another take like it, and left it in, to everyone's delight! This is a period black long-tail tuxedo jacket worn by Lou Costello in this classic feature. It includes the original Western Costume label in the inner breast pocket with "L. Costello" inked in. It also has the "WWC" initials in the lining. Costumes from Abbott and Costello features are quite rare, and this is a treasure from one of their all time greatest films.
